Rudy Wurlitzer
I knew Bob (Dylan) a little, and he came to see me when he heard that I was doing a film on Billy the Kid, and he said, "Oh, man, you know what? I always thought I was the reincarnation of Billy the Kid." I said, "I'm sure you are." And he said, "Well, if there's any way I can be in it . . . "
So we went down and met Sam (Peckinpah), and he turned to Bob and said, "You know, I'm a big fan of Roger Miller." I thought, "Oh no, this might be it."
But Bob fell in love. He was a confrontationist too, so he understood.

David Geffen
Geffen had realized that his most powerful weapon was his voice.
He was a gifted screamer, and he had learned quickly that he could scare people into giving him whatever he wanted.
His rage was so formidable that it left some of his victims gasping for air.

David Lowery On "St. Nick"
The cat's out of the bag now; as eagle-eyed readers may have already ascertained, when "St. Nick" is seen in its final form, it'll have the Sisyphean logo on the left in the credits, alongside the Austin Film Society emblem and any other entity that steps in to help the film between now and then. It's one of ten features that's been invited to this year's IFP Narrative Lab.
David is editing as I post.
Nuff said?!

Norma Shearer
Although she was the boss' wife, Shearer didn't throw her weight around in any obvious way. "She always smiled," recalled Robert Young. "And it wasn't a false smile, it was a lovely, sweet, gentle smile. They would ask her something, "Miss Shearer," or "Mrs. Thalberg," and she would just smile and she'd say 'No.' And that was it. . . . She just smiled, and, 'No.' Bingo. Took care of the whole thing."
