So this is The Dakota. I'd read about it in a couple of biographies I'd read about Judy Holliday (I think she lived there), but I'd never seen a picture of it and didn't know if it was even still standing.

I have just finished the saga of new York, and he devotes so much to this buidling.
Now I get to see what it must have looked like when it was built and all the kerfuffel around it. It WAS stuck over the other side all by itself. Very maverick.

Lovely image! These are unique treasures .. Old pictures tell us about the change and what can be a magnificent building style.
Beautiful architecture. It's still standing too. They built buildings to last.
