I like Geo's interpretation. However for some reason, I think a funnel has sexual connotations? But since it's on his head maybe he's filtering out his thoughts. Cheeky thoughts !

Most unusual and intriguing. The funnel hat reminds of sitting in the corner with a dunce hat on so everyone would know you are a slow learner or stupid, as was once practiced in our schools.
