Growing Tensions


Both Madame Royal and the Dauphin were extemely sensitive to their parents' emotions; they could read the pain on their parents' faces.

Although the King And Queen tried to protect their children, the restricted living arrangements made it inevitable that the children would learn of the growing tensions between the King and the Assembly and between France and Austria.
